Terms of Service

By accessing or using RunwayFI ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

RunwayFI is an educational financial planning tool that provides interactive projections, tax estimates, and retirement scenario modeling. The Service is designed to help you understand your financial situation and explore planning scenarios.

RunwayFI is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, financial planner, or tax adviser. Nothing on the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. All projections and estimates are educational and illustrative only.

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

To access certain features, you may create an account using Google OAuth or email and password. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Promptly notifying us of any unauthorized use

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

RunwayFI offers free and paid subscription tiers. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the then-current subscription price.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds are provided at our discretion in accordance with applicable law.

Credit packs are one-time purchases that do not expire but are non-refundable once used.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to access the Service
• Impersonate any person or entity
• Upload malicious code or interfere with the Service's operation
• Share your account credentials with others

All content, software, and designs on the Service are owned by RunwayFI LLC or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written permission.

You retain ownership of data you input into the Service. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data solely to provide and improve the Service.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

Financial projections and calculations are estimates based on inputs you provide and assumptions about future conditions. Actual results will differ. Do not make financial decisions based solely on Service outputs without consulting a qualified professional.

The Service is operated by RunwayFI LLC, a domestic Illinois limited liability company.

You own your personal financial data. We store it securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL with row-level security) and locally in your browser via IndexedDB. We do not sell your personal financial data to third parties.

We use anonymized, aggregated data to improve the Service. We may share data with:

• Supabase — database hosting and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing (no financial data)
• OpenAI — AI chat features (see Section 10)

You may export or delete your data at any time through your account settings. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed from our systems within 30 days.

PlanPulse is an AI-powered financial assistant powered by OpenAI. When you use PlanPulse, a summary of your financial plan (income, expenses, tax bracket, portfolio totals, and FIRE projection) is sent to OpenAI to generate responses.

PlanPulse does not: send your name, email address, or payment information to OpenAI. PlanPulse responses are educational only and do not constitute financial advice.

OpenAI's data processing is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RUNWAYFI LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless RunwayFI LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.

You and RunwayFI LLC agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally for 30 days before initiating formal legal proceedings.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We are not liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
